Earlier we were looking up the Keto Diet for some more information; learned the actual full name is Ketogenic diet.
“The Ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used mainly to treat hard-to-control epilepsy in children. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates.” This comes from the well known website Wikipedia. So we started to read into that and found out some interesting facts. Here is what we found; “The classic therapeutic Ketogenic diet was developed for the treatment of pediatric epilepsy in the 1920s…”
This was a complete shocker to all of us! We had no idea that this was an actual medical diet and nowadays, people are using it for weight loss. That is beyond some of our understanding!
“Physicians of ancient Greece treated diseases, including epilepsy, by altering their patients’ diet.”
This goes way back to ancient Greece. It has been around for a while, so really, this isn’t a new practice.
Just back in the day, it was a medical procedure.
Anyways figured if you wanted to check it out for yourself, I’d link the page right here.
Enjoy the read, it is very interesting and could really educate someone in depth on this program.
