Basics of Keto
The Ketogenic diet is a very low carb, high-fat diet that involves lowering your carbohydrate intake and replacing it with fat. Because of the reduction of carbs, our bodies go into a metabolic state known as ketosis.
Carbohydrates are in the food we eat and with little carbohydrates in our system, our liver converts the fat in our bodies into fatty acids and ketone bodies. When it is passing into the brain, it is replacing or adding an additional energy source, which the body needs to operate.
